SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A local Navy veteran is stuck in Puerto Rico amid the devastation from Hurricane Maria.
The hurricane crippled communications and severed supply arteries. The island is in survival mode without food, water and power.
Bob Rivera is waiting to hear from Lance Cintron, who went to Puerto Rico between Hurricane Irma and Maria. Cintron is apparently staying at a hotel on a U.S. military base with his fiance and their daughter.
The military is offloading supplies and doing medical evacuations. The Defense Department says it will increase air missions.
Rivera says he hopes help doesn't come too late.
