SAN DIEGO -- San Diego police Tuesday sought a bicyclist who hit a homeless man in the head with a hammer in the Midway District.
The victim suffered minor injuries in the attack at around 11:15 p.m. Monday in the vicinity of Camino Del Rio West and Gaines Street, San Diego police Officer Dan Lasher said. It was not immediately clear whether he was taken to a hospital.
Police described the suspect as a white man wearing a white bandana and a black backpack who was last seen riding a bicycle on Gaines Street.
This latest incident comes after a spree of homeless attacks earlier this month in which three men were killed and two others were critically hurt. On July 15, Jon David Guerrero, 39, was arrested in connection with those five attacks.
