A gun-wielding man robbed a North Park skate shop Monday afternoon.

The thief, who appeared to be in his late 20s, confronted a clerk at Overload, 3827 30th St., and displayed the weapon shortly before 1:30 p.m., according to San Diego police.

The robber grabbed some merchandise, then fled the area to the south. He was described as a roughly 5-foot-7-inch, 150-pound black man in dark basketball-style shorts, a white shirt and a black baseball cap, Officer Frank Cali said.
