A fight at a National City 7-Eleven ended with a man being stabbed to death, according to National City police.

Police responded to the store in the 200 block of North Highland Avenue around 11:28 p.m. Saturday after reports of a possible shooting or stabbing.

When officers arrived they found the man suffering from stab wounds. Paramedics responded and took the victim to a local hospital.

The man, who was identified as Eduardo Ortega Jr., 25, was pronounced dead at the hospital at 12:22 a.m. Sunday.

During the investigation, National City Police Detectives identified two suspects involved in the stabbing.

On April 10, Eleazar Mariscal, 34, was arrested at an address off of Epsilon Street in San Diego. He was booked into County Jail for murder.

Detectives said the second suspect is 19-year-old Enrique Cruz Pompa. They tried making contact with Pompa on April 12, but Pompa evaded officers and then abandoned his truck, according to police.
