SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Authorities are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man suspected of stealing a Santee woman's credit card information and using it to make unauthorized purchases.

According to sheriff's officials, the victim said she never lost possession of her credit card and is unaware how her private information was stolen.

Sheriff's officials said the unidentified man used the woman's information and made $900 worth of unauthorized purchases on Aug. 21 and 22 at:

-- Shell Gas Station, 5302 Lake Murray Boulevard, La Mesa
-- Sarku Japan Restaurant, Fashion Valley Mall
-- Travel Mart, 1201 Hotel Circle South, San Diego

The suspected identity thief is white, between 20 and 30 years old, has short brown hair and appeared unshaven in surveillance photos. He was last seen wearing a dark Lucky Brand T-shirt, plaid shorts, dark "skater style" shoes and dark sunglasses.

Sheriff's officials said:

"The clerk at the Travel Mart says the suspect presented a pink out of state driver license. The same clerk says the suspect was accompanied by a black man with short hair and a pink collared shirt. This man was also seen with the suspect at the Sarku Japan restaurant.

Surveillance video from the Shell Gas Station shows the suspect getting into the back seat of an unknown make/model white, four-door SUV. There may have been two other people inside the vehicle."
