A man who was sitting in his car in Mountain View early Saturday morning was stabbed and had his car stolen, according to police.

The 37-year-old victim was parked on Pardee Place and 35th Street shortly after 1 a.m. when he spotted a silver sedan with a Hispanic couple in it parked across the street from him, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.

The victim said he knew the woman only as Liz, but did not recognize the man who stabbed him while he was seated in the car. The victim was stabbed in the lower left rib area and was expected to be OK, Heims said.

The woman took the victim's car and the male suspect took the couple's car as they escaped northbound on 35th Street, Heims said.
