OCEANSIDE -- Police are looking for three people suspected of shooting a young man and pushing his teenage companion in front of a moving car Thursday night.
A witness told Oceanside police he saw the trio of suspects assaulting a 17-year- old boy in the vicinity of Frazee Road and State Route 76 around 6 p.m. Thursday, Oceanside police Lt. Leonard Cosby said. That victim was then shoved into the path of the witness' car.
A second victim, a 21-year-old man, was located nearby shortly afterward suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, Cosby said.
Both victims were airlifted to a hospital in critical condition. Cosby said the teen was being treated for facial contusions and other injuries stemming from the attack.
Officers were unable to locate the suspects during an initial search, according to the lieutenant.
