SAN DIEGO -- An investigation was underway into a daytime shooting that killed a 46-year-old man in Emerald Hills Park Sunday.
The victim was working on a vehicle alongside Bethune Court near Kelton Road when two teens walked up and opened fire around 5:15 p.m. Sunday, San Diego police Lt. Manny Del Toro said. A dark Nissan-type vehicle was seen speeding away from the area shortly after, but it was not immediately clear
whether the suspects were inside.
Officers sent to the scene were told that someone had already taken victim to a hospital. He was later transferred to a second hospital via ambulance and died a short time later from gunshot wounds to his upper body, according to the lieutenant. His name was not immediately available.
Police described both suspects as black teenage boys wearing black hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. They were last seen running south on Kelton Road.
Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call police at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers' anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477.
