SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man pretending to have a concealed gun robbed a Gaslamp District candy shop this afternoon.

The thief, who appeared to be in his 20s, "simulated having a firearm" in a pocket while carrying out the holdup at the IT'SUGAR store in the 400 block of Fifth Avenue shortly before 1:30 p.m., Officer Dino Delimitros said.

The bandit left the business through a back door and fled the area in an unknown direction.

Details on the loss were not released.
