SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - A standoff in a San Marcos neighborhood ended early Monday morning after a man was found dead inside a home.
Law enforcement officers were serving a warrant at a home on Brightwood Drive at about 11 p.m. Sunday for a 54-year-old man suspected in a recent Carlsbad attempted murder/domestic violence case.
However, the man refused to come out of the home, prompting a standoff.
A woman in the home during the entire ordeal eventually exited the house safely. She was not hurt.
Authorities used a robot to enter the home just after 1 a.m. to find the man dead inside with what was believed to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Some neighbors told 10News the two people in the home had just moved in two days ago.
