SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Two men suspected of being drunk were taken into custody following a standoff in Sunset Cliffs during which shots were fired.

San Diego police were called to a home in the 1000 block of Devonshire Drive at around 1 a.m. Friday in response to an altercation.

Officers arrived and began questioning a woman from the home when one man from inside called 911 and indicated he was pointing a rifle at police.

Police said the man then fired several shots from the house, prompting officers to find cover and call in a SWAT unit.

Officers did not return fire, 10News learned.

After about an hour, the man called 911 and agreed to surrender. Another man inside the home also surrendered.

10News cameras were rolling as one of the men exited the home with his hands up but struggled to stand up before falling to the ground.

The two men, who police believe were under the influence of alcohol, were eventually taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.
