CHULA VISTA – A man and dog were struck by an SUV in a busy Chula Vista intersection on Monday.
According to Chula Vista police, at about 9:50 p.m. a dog darted out in traffic onto Broadway at E Street. A friend of the owner chased after the dog, and both were hit by an SUV traveling north on Broadway.
The man was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition but with a possible leg injury. Chula Vista Fire Department crews administered oxygen to the dog at the scene and then transported it to an animal hospital for further treatment. Its condition was not confirmed.
The female driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
