NATIONAL CITY, Calif. (KGTV) - A man was arrested Wednesday after National City police said he dangled his 18-month-old daughter over a second-story balcony.
Officers were called to the 2600 block of E. Plaza Boulevard before 10 p.m. after a someone reported a male relative -- apparently distraught over a family member's death -- acting irrational and holding his baby girl over the balcony of his home.
Some officers tried talking him down as other officers gained entered the apartment. When the man went back inside, officers took that opportunity to get the child away from him.
The man struggled with officers as they tried to restrain him.
Officers eventually took him into custody, and he was taken to the hospital for an evaluation.
The baby girl is OK, according to police.
