Riverside police arrested a man suspected of offering a 6-year-old girl a treat to lure her into a bathroom.
The incident was recorded by a surveillance camera inside a Food-4-Less on Chicago Ave. in Riverside on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
Police said the man motioned for the girl to come towards him and offered her a treat.
However, the girl left and told a relative about the encounter.
The Riverside Police Department posted the video on Facebook and asked for the public's help to identify the man.
Information from the public directed detectives to the Planet Fitness gym near the Food-4-Less, and on March 9, an employee called police and told them the man matching the suspect description was at the gym.
Officers arrived and arrested 78-year-old Thomas Childers of Simi Valley.
Childers is being held on charges of annoying or molesting a child.
