VISTA -- An Oceanside man accused of pouring gasoline on his girlfriend and setting her on fire is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at the courthouse in Vista.

Ricardo Gonzalez, 33, was arrested Friday night and booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder and felony domestic violence.

Officers and paramedics responded about 3:30 p.m. Friday to the 3600 block of Cerro Avenue, where the unidentified woman was treated for significant burn injuries and transported to the UC San Diego Medical Center Burn Unit. She is expected to survive.

Gonzalez allegedly told police that he and the victim got into a fight in front of  a home and that he got a gas can from the garage, poured gas on the victim, and lit her on fire with a lighter.

Gonzalez suffered minor injuries in the attack, police said.
