Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a man suspected of following and annoying a 16-year-old girl in Alpine.

Sheriff's officials said the same man followed the girl on two separate occasions as she walked near Alpine Boulevard and West Victoria Drive.

On Nov. 4, the man drove up to the girl and asked if she needed a ride to her car. She ran away, but sheriff's officials said the man circled the block several times to find her.

On Nov. 18, the girl said she spotted the man as she walked to school. She said the man followed her to a bus stop, but he never got out of the car. The girl was unable to get a license plate number.

The man is described as a heavy set, dark-skinned black male between 65-70 years old. He is bald and had a mustache, and he was wearing wire-rimmed glasses at the time.

The man's car is described as an older model tan Toyota Camry or similar type of vehicle.

Anyone with information on the identity and location of the man is asked to call the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department at 858-565-5200 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477.

Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to a felony arrest in this case. Anonymous email and text messages can be sent via www.sdcrimestoppers.org.
