Woman killed in jet ski collision at Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) – A woman died after a collision between two jet skis in a Carlsbad lagoon Sunday.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon off the 4200 block of Harrison Street, according to Carlsbad police.

Police said a jet ski driven by a 17-year-old boy and another driven by a man with a female passenger collided on the water.

The 39-year-old woman was taken to the hospital after the crash but died from her injuries, police said.

No other injuries were reported in the collision.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, and police noted that alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the incident.
