SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A woman was injured after police said she was dragged across a parking lot while trying to stop thieves from taking her iPhone.
The incident happened at around 11:45 p.m. Tuesday in front of a 7-Eleven store in the 3600 block of College Avenue, according to San Diego police.
Witnesses told 10News a man in a car with three passengers asked a woman if he could use her cell phone and she agreed. However, when the man tried to drive away with the phone, the woman refused to let go of the device.
The car drove across the parking lot as the woman hung on, but she finally let go when she was almost struck by another vehicle.
Descriptions of the vehicle and suspected robbers were not immediately available.
The woman suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Police interviewed witnesses and are reviewing surveillance video as part of the investigation.
