SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after authorities said she led officers on a high-speed chase down Interstate 5 in the North County.
At around 4:15 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers attempted to pull over a driver suspected of DUI in Oceanside, but the driver sped away, prompting a pursuit.
Officers pursued the woman as she traveled south on I-5 at speeds up to 80 mph.
At Del Mar Heights Road in Del Mar, the car ran over a spike strip that was laid down by the CHP, but the driver continued south.
The woman eventually pulled her car over on the freeway just north of Carmel Valley Road and was surrounded by officers.
The woman was arrested and was going to be evaluated for DUI.
