SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - At least one water main break flooded businesses and caused Torrey Hills streets to shut down during rush hour Wednesday morning.
The 16-inch main broke just after 8 a.m. at Vista Sorrento Parkway and Carmel Mountain Road, San Diego Police said.
"The street is flooded, the yard is flooded, the whole place is flooded," said Joanie, an employee of the Corner House Cafe, downhill from the break.
At 9:15 a.m., police reported that crews were working to shut off the water.
Sorrento Valley Road, a thoroughfare for businesses, was shut down at Carmel Mountain Road due to the break.
Police stopped westbound traffic on Carmel Mountain Road, and traffic in the area near Torrey View Court was shut down due to flooding.
Crews estimated their repairs would last until Thursday morning.
