SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Three people were taken to the hospital early Tuesday morning after a two-car crash on a City Heights street.
San Diego police said the crash happened at around 1 a.m. at the intersection of Fairmount Avenue and Laurel Street.
Witnesses told 10News a white car on northbound Fairmount Avenue was making a left turn onto westbound Laurel Street when it drove in front of a black sedan that was heading southbound on Fairmount Avenue at a high rate of speed.
The impact sent both cars spinning, with the black vehicle hitting a parked pickup truck before coming to rest at least 100 feet away.
Witnesses helped remove two men from the black car. Both men, who witnesses said were not wearing seatbelts, were bloodied and injured and were taken to the hospital.
The driver of the white car also suffered unspecified injuries and was rushed to the hospital.
Police said the driver of the black vehicle was cited for DUI.
