ESCONDIDO, Calif. (KGTV) – A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Monday after he was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on an Escondido street, police said.
Escondido police said the collision occurred at around 10 p.m. on Ash Street, near Pennsylvania Avenue.
According to police, a dark-colored vehicle was traveling north on Ash Street when it struck a man and then drove away without stopping.
10News learned the unidentified victim ended up nearly 50 feet from where he was hit.
The victim was taken to Palomar Medical Center for injuries considered serious.
Escondido police believe the driver was a woman, but the investigation is ongoing, City News Service reported.
