CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) – Several vehicles in an east Chula Vista neighborhood were burglarized early Thursday morning, and the incident was captured on a surveillance camera.
The vehicle break-ins occurred at around 2:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Bodega Bay Drive, near Silverado Drive, in the Eastlake Greens area.
Surveillance video shows at least two people opening vehicle doors, searching inside and moving on to other vehicles after taking property.
A resident whose surveillance camera captured the break-ins said he believes the people who carried out the burglaries were males, and he said at least eight vehicles were hit.
The resident also suspected more vehicles could have been burglarized on nearby Silverado Drive.
The resident said it appeared that the burglars took smaller items such as sunglasses, money and phone chargers.
Chula Vista police are investigating the break-ins.
