SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - During this time, many people are turning to food banks to feed their families. One San Marcos teen created a website to help locate the local distribution sites.
Sebastian Carbonero is a senior at San Marcos High School. Like many others, his senior year was cut short. He decided to use this time to create a website to help people.
“ I thought it would be nice if they could go on a website to see local food banks near them,” says Carbonero.
The “Food Banks” website is free. All you need is your zip code to locate the nearest distribution sites.
One week after being launched, the teen says the website is already helping those in the community.
“It really made me feel happy to know that someone was helped by this.”
The teen says he plans to develop an app for cell phones in the near future.
