SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A surfer found unconscious in the waters off a La Jolla beach was rescued by bystanders and rushed to the hospital.

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials said a woman in her 30s was spotted face down in the waters off Tourmaline Surfing Park, near the 5100 block of La Jolla Boulevard, at around 8:10 a.m. Wednesday.

Bystanders saw the woman and pulled her from the water, SDFRD officials said. CPR was performed and then continued when San Diego Lifeguards arrived.

The woman began breathing again and was transported to Scripps Memorial Hospital.

The woman’s condition is unknown, and details on how she lost consciousness were not immediately available.
