LEMON GROVE, Calif. (KGTV) - A distraught RV owner is searching for clues after her motorhome vanished in the night in Lemon Grove.

"Feel violated. Where could it have gone?" said Brenda Brabant.

Several weeks ago on a Wednesday night, Brabant parked her refurbished 1979 Dodge Tioga motorhome near her home on Mazer street. The next morning, it was gone.

"It's been very emotional," said Brabant, choking back tears.

Just past 10 p.m. that night, neighbors say two people - including a blond woman - got out of a pickup truck, before loading the RV onto a flatbed truck captured in surveillance images.

The contents inside the stolen motorhome were items that allowed Brabant to give back: Nearly $10,000 worth of hair, caps, and tools she needed to craft custom wigs for cancer and burn survivors.

For nearly four decades, she's tracked down donors to help pay for adult wigs, while making free wigs for the kids.

"They feel like they have something special, so they can feel as normal as possible," said Brabant.

The RV serves as a workroom and private space for the people she helps. Some have just received a cancer diagnosis.

"It gives them a space to vent and scream when they find out they have cancer. It's not something you can do in public," said Brabant.

Brabant is now at a loss, unable to help her clients. The RV is not insured for theft. A Gofundme campaign has been set up to help pay for new wig-making tools and equipment.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Substation at 619-337-2000.
