SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A man who climbed a large tree on the San Diego City College campus Wednesday morning prompted an hours-long standoff with police.
San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials said witnesses saw the man climb the tree around 8:30 a.m.
The unidentified man, who appeared impaired, refused to come down.
Nearly six hours later, he climbed down and was taken into San Diego police custody.
It remains unclear why the man climbed the tree.
