SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A two-car collision killed at least one person in San Ysidro early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 5:15 a.m. when a red car got off state Route 905 at the Caliente Avenue exit, then hit a sign before crashing into a black SUV.
The SUV spun around and landed in a nearby ditch. That driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The driver of the red vehicle died at the scene.
The cause of the crash is unclear.
Caliente Avenue was closed for a few hours while CHP investigated.
