SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Smoke from a scheduled prescribed burn on Camp Pendleton may be visible to North County residents on Saturday.
Camp Pendleton officials said the prescribed burn in the base’s Juliet training area, near Naval Weapons Station Fallbrook, is set to begin 9 a.m. on May 23.
The Camp Pendleton Fire Department, as well as the Oceanside Fire Department and North County Fire Protection District, will take part in the operation.
Base officials said smoke will be visible from Oceanside, Bonsall, and Fallbrook.
The operation is scheduled to last up to six hours.
