CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) – A semi-truck lost control on a rain-slicked roadway and overturned off Interstate 805 in the Chula Vista area early Friday morning.
The crash happened at around 2:30 a.m. on southbound I-805 just before the exit to H Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
10News learned the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle as rain fell, causing the truck to barrel into a guardrail.
The truck, which did not have a trailer at the time, came to rest on its side.
Emergency responders treated the driver at the scene for minor injuries.
The CHP planned to close the Bonita Road on-ramp to southbound I-805 to remove the truck.
