SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Gas and Electric is turning to the Supreme Court as it tries to pass $379 million in wildfire costs along to ratepayers.

Regulators and two California courts have already ruled that the company was responsible for the 2007 wildfires and that the company should pay the money itself.

SDG&E power lines were blamed for starting the fires, which destroyed 1,300 homes.

The company petitioned the Supreme Court Tuesday, but there’s no guarantee the justices will take the case.
