San Diego (KGTV)- With the help of community members, a Santee mom was able to create a special memory for her son's 16th birthday. He thought it would be ruined due to the pandemic, but mom had a different idea in mind.

16-year-old Orion Koster received the surprise of his life when dozens of cars passed down a Santee street just for him.

"It's just… I don't know what to say," says Orion Koster.

Before all of the excitement, 10News spoke with his mom, Jessica Koster, who says it was hard keeping a secret from her son but says he deserved an epic birthday.

"To say he's kind and giving is an understatement," says Koster. "He always puts others before himself."

Koster says as the eldest, Orion is always helping take care of his siblings, including a younger sister who was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy.

She says the teen had doubts about his birthday during the pandemic.

"He said mom don't worry about my birthday this year, it's already ruined," says Koster. "As a mother's heart, it broke."

When mom reached out to friends at the San Diego Car Community, they helped make this surprise a birthday to remember.

What the teen didn't know is there was an even bigger surprise at the end of the caravan. The teen's mom surprised him with a shiny blue 2010 Chevy Camaro.

"This is a lot more than anything I could have asked for really," says the teen. "This is a lifetime right here."
