SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are investigating a home invasion robbery in which an elderly woman was tied up inside the bathroom of her Valencia Park home.

Shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday, an 81-year-old woman contacted San Diego police to report a robbery at her house in the 800 block of Oakhurst Drive.

The victim told officers that someone rang the doorbell, and when she answered the door, two men wearing black masks forced their way inside.

The men -- one of them armed with a gun -- took the woman to an upstairs bathroom and tied her up. The men then proceeded to steal cash before fleeing.

Police said the woman was able to untie herself and called authorities. She was not injured, 10News learned.

Responding officers fanned out around the neighborhood in search of the two men.

Detailed descriptions of the men were not immediately available.
