SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 33-year-old man was stabbed in the chest early Friday morning during an argument in the Grantville neighborhood, police said.

The stabbing happened about 3:20 a.m. on San Diego Mission Road near Fairmount Avenue, east of Interstate 15, San Diego police Officer Tony Martinez said.

The victim got into an argument with another man, who stabbed him once in the chest with a knife, Martinez said.

Family members took the victim to a hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.

The suspected attacker was described as in his 30s with a heavy build. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.
