San Diego police: Argument leads to deadly shooting at Barrio Logan home

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was shot and killed after a reported break-in at a Barrio Logan home late Thursday night, San Diego police said.

Police confirmed they received a call just after 11:30 p.m. regarding a man who entered a home in the 2100 block of National Avenue and was down inside.

Responding officers arrived to find an unresponsive man in a bathroom inside home with at least one gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was declared dead at the scene.

Police described the victim as a Hispanic male in his late 20s-early 30s.

No other injuries were reported.

According to police: “San Diego Police Homicide Detectives were called to the scene and are currently investigating the incident. While it is still early the investigation, Detectives have learned that two males were in an argument outside the home when one of the males forced his way into the home. Several gunshots were fired inside the home and other residents found the injured man in the bathroom. It is unknown at this time if the male was known to the residents of the home.”

Police said a description of the suspected shooter was not immediately available.
