SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man was taken to the hospital Friday morning after he was shot in the leg in North Park, police said.
According to San Diego police, the injury shooting was reported at around 4:15 a.m. in an area near Idaho Street and Polk Avenue, just feet away from North Park Community Park.
10News learned the injured man was walking in an alley nearby when he was struck his leg by a bullet.
Despite being injured, the 24-year-old victim was able to bandage his own wound and walked towards the park.
Officers found the injured man lying on the ground with a non-life threatening injury.
SDPD Mid-City Division detectives were investigating the circumstances that led to the gunfire, and a description of the suspected shooter was not immediately available.
