SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A suspected dognapper was jailed and the pup was reunited with its rightful owner thanks to work by San Diego police.

In a tweet and photo posted Monday, police said “some grinch” stole a woman’s dog and then tried to get the owner to pay to get the pet back.

When officers caught the thief, the person refused to tell police where the dog was.

Police said they found the dog after a search, but it’s unclear where officers tracked it down.

In the tweet, police said that the so-called “grinch” is now in “JAIL!”

Fortunately our awesome patrol officers weren’t having it.
