SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Law enforcement departments across San Diego County will be out in full force over the Labor Day weekend to help keep local roads safe.
Starting Friday into Monday, the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department and other police departments will have extra patrols monitoring for impaired drivers.
Sheriff’s officials announced a DUI checkpoint will be in place at an undisclosed location in Poway on Friday night.
Also, the California Highway Patrol and Carlsbad Police Department are working together to conduct a DUI checkpoint within Carlsbad’s city limits on Saturday.
In 2018, the sheriff’s department alone arrested 24 people for impaired driving during the Labor Day holiday weekend.
