San Diego County under freeze warning amid cold temperatures

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A freeze warning is in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday in San Diego County's inland valleys, including Escondido, El Cajon, San Marcos, La Mesa, Santee and Poway, according to the National Weather Service.

A freeze warning is issued when sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation, according to the weather service.

Shelter should be provided for pets and livestock.

Lows forecast for Thursday include 22 degrees in Ramona, 26 in Escondido, 27 in El Cajon and Oceanside, 28 in Camp Pendleton and Mira Mesa, 30 in Miramar, 33 in Vista, 36 in Encinitas, 38 in Chula Vista and La Jolla, 39 in Fallbrook and 42 in Del Mar.
