SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – A Lyft driver was struck by a rock that smashed through her car’s windshield as she traveled on Interstate 5 in the Little Italy area.

At around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, a driver was on her way to Lindbergh Field for a pick up when she said a baseball-sized rock went through the windshield of her sedan on the driver’s side.

While the windshield took the brunt of the impact, the rock hit the woman in her forehead before landing on her lap.

The driver safely pulled over on Hawthorn Street and called 911 to report the incident.

The driver, who was not hurt and declined any medical treatment, told police she did not know where the rock came from and noted that there were no vehicles in front of her at the time.
