IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. (KGTV) – Two people accused of leading deputies on a brief pursuit were taken into custody after bailing from their car and hiding in an Imperial Beach neighborhood.

San Diego County sheriff’s deputies tried to pull over a car for a stop sign violation around 11 a.m. Tuesday, but the driver sped away, prompting a chase.

The car came to a stop in an area near Fern Avenue and Granger Street, and a man and woman from the car ran away.

One person who remained in the car was taken into custody.

Deputies combed the neighborhood in search of the pair and eventually tracked them down inside a house.

The driver complained of difficulty breathing and was taken to the hospital for treatment before being booked into jail.
