CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) -- A male shooting victim was dropped off at a Chula Vista hospital early Friday morning but died from his injuries, police confirmed.
According to Chula Vista police, a male with a gunshot wound to his head was taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista (435 8th St.) at around 12:45 a.m. by an unknown person.
After dropping off the victim, the person -- believed to be a male -- left the area before police arrived. A description of that person was not immediately available.
Police confirmed to 10News the unidentified shooting victim died at the hospital.
Police are trying to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting and if the shooting took place in the city of Chula Vista.
