Pilot rescued, hospitalized after ultralight aircraft crashes in creek in Mission Bay area

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several witnesses helped rescue the pilot of an ultralight aircraft that crash in a creek near Mission Bay Tuesday morning.

The incident was reported just after 11 a.m. in Rose Creek, off the 2600 block of N. Mission Bay Drive, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue Department officials.

10News learned several people who saw the crash helped pull the pilot from the water. The pilot was evaluated at the scene by emergency responders and then taken to the hospital.

The pilot’s condition is unknown.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
