SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An hours-long standoff with a parolee at a Sherman Heights home finally came to an end Tuesday night.
The standoff began at the home on 19th Street at Imperial Avenue around 3 p.m., police said. The location is southeast of I-5 and SR-94, and across from Standard Meat Co.
Officers evacuated two nearby apartment units as a precaution while urging the parolee to leave the home.
According to police, the parolee was wanted for drug sales and possibly weapons-related violations.
Aerial video showed the intersection of 19th and Imperial and part of 19th Street closed in front of the home.
Police say family members outside the home were able to talk the man into surrendering to police.
