SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) - San Diego County Crime Stoppers released video Friday of a vehicle deputies believe was involved in a hit and run crash that killed a woman in San Marcos.
The victim, Helen Gomez, was walking her dog Seth in the 300 block of Smilax Road at 8:20 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 15, when the vehicle struck her. Seth stayed by his owner's side until help arrived.
Gomez sustained major injuries and died the next day, deputies said.

Investigators identified the suspect vehicle as a white Ford Econoline series E-150, E-250, or E-350 van which should have damage to the front bumper and grille.
Anyone with information about the crash or vehicle is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 858-565-5200 or the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest.
