SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A motorcyclist crashed on Interstate 15 in the Mission Valley area after leading California Highway Patrol officers on a high-speed chase.
At around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, CHP officers spotted a motorcyclist speeding on westbound Interstate 8 and tried to pull the rider over.
However, the motorcyclist refused to stop and reportedly gassed the throttle before speeding away.
With officers in pursuit, the rider reached speeds of up to 120 MPH as he made his way onto northbound I-15.
However, the motorcyclist lost control of his bike and slid across all lanes before slamming into the center divider.
The man was taken into custody and then transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
CHP officers said the rider’s helmet protected him from serious injury.
