Man suspected of throwing rocks at vehicles, San Diego police station arrested

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A man suspected of smashing vehicle windows with rocks and throwing a rock at the downtown San Diego police station was arrested early Monday morning.

At around 3:30 a.m., police received reports of a person using rocks to smash the windows of at least four vehicles parked near the SDPD headquarters on Broadway.

The man also threw a rock at a police station window, causing damage to the bulletproof glass, police told 10News.

Officers spotted the man as he walked towards F Street and ordered him to put down the rocks in his hand, but police said the man threw a rock at a City College sergeant and a K-9 officer.

Officers were able to arrest the man with the help of the K-9.

The man may felony vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon charges, 10News learned.
