EL CAJON, Calif. (KGTV) – A man jumped out of an SUV on Interstate 8 in El Cajon after police said his own cousin stabbed him inside the vehicle.
El Cajon police said the victim and his cousin were arguing inside an SUV when the incident occurred on eastbound I-8 near Magnolia Avenue at around 2 a.m. Monday.
According to police, the attack forced the victim to jump out of the vehicle and run onto the freeway lanes to look for help.
An oncoming Uber driver nearly hit the victim but pulled over to help him.
As the suspected attacker tried to get to the victim, the wounded man jumped into the Uber vehicle for protection. The suspected attacker pounded on the Uber vehicle as it made its way off the freeway and onto Mollison Avenue.
Police, who were called by the suspected attacker’s girlfriend, arrived at the scene and arrested the man.
The stabbing victim was not seriously injured.
