SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A man was injured after being shot in the face by someone with a pellet gun in the Rancho San Diego area.

At around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, a man and his wife were traveling eastbound on Jamacha Road when someone pulled up next to them, opened fire and then drove away.

The couple pulled into a parking lot and responding sheriff’s deputies determined that the man was struck in the face by rounds from a pellet or BB gun.

The man’s injuries were considered minor and he was treated at the scene.

Deputies are searching for a dark-colored car, possibly an Acura, that was seen driving eastbound on Jamacha Road after the incident.
