Man arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting teen; Carlsbad police seek more victims

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) - Carlsbad police are hoping to make contact with other potential victims of a man accused of sexually assaulting multiple females, including a 16-year-old girl.

According to police, officers arrested 47-year-old Michael Fangman on June 7 at his Carlsbad home. He was taken into custody on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl.

Fangman was booked into the Vista Detention Facility, and his bail was set at $1 million. He faces 10 felony counts, including rape of a drugged victim, luring of a minor for a sex offense, oral copulation when drugged and sex with a minor.

Police said the 16-year-old girl met Fangman online, and on March 18, she contacted authorities to report she had been sexually assaulted by Fangman.

During the course of their investigation, police found other females who claimed Fangman sexually assaulted them.

According to police, there are three females who have come forward, but investigators believe there are more.
